Done-for-you implementation · Built and installed, not taught
The work that gets a trade business off its owner’s shoulders
TBO Consulting does done-for-you implementation for owners of building, construction and trade businesses. It is not a course and it is not a programme of sessions. We audit the business, then build and install what is missing: the systems, the processes, the marketing and the people. This page sets out what that involves.

Done for you, not taught to you
Most owners have already tried something: a programme of fortnightly sessions on a 12-month term, a course of video modules and templates, a group call with other owners, or a report that told them what they already knew. Each one leaves the building to you.
We build it. We come in, do the work in your business, prove it runs, and step back. You keep running your jobs while it happens.
- Not a course. No modules, no videos, no login, no homework.
- Not sessions. No accountability calls, no mindset sessions, no group masterminds.
- Not a report. No 60-page document full of things you already knew. We fix it, prove it works, then leave.
- Not a retainer. One piece of work, one agreed scope, no lock-in at any step.

The five systems we install
Every business is different, but the same five things come up whenever an owner cannot step away. We build them, plug them in, and make sure they run before we leave. Not every business needs all five. The deep dive shows which ones matter most for yours.
1. The Lead Engine
What it is. A dependable way to bring in enquiries that does not rely on word of mouth or on you answering the phone mid-job.
What gets installed. We set up the ads, the landing pages and your Google presence, along with an AI-powered follow-up system. That system rings, texts and chases every enquiry within minutes.
What you get. Enquiries are answered and followed up whether you are on site, on the roof or on holiday. New work stops depending on referrals alone, and on you being free to pick up.
2. The Quote to Cash System
What it is. The path from first enquiry to money in the bank, written down and automated so nothing lives in your head or your inbox.
What gets installed. A CRM with automated follow-ups, deposit contracts and terms of trade. It also includes an AI assistant trained on your past jobs that drafts proposals from a site photo and a voice note.
What you get. Quotes go out faster and are chased without you remembering to do it. Deposits and terms are agreed up front, and the information sits in one place your team can see.
3. The Off The Tools Roadmap
What it is. A clear view of what only you should be doing, and a plan for handing over everything else.
What gets installed. We work out your role, then hand the rest to your team with written processes and video SOPs. We put the right person in the seat that runs the day to day, and if you do not have that person yet, we help you hire them.
What you get. Work done the same way whether you are there or not, a team that knows what is expected, and a business that does not fall over when you take a break.
4. The Numbers That Matter
What it is. The handful of figures that tell you whether the business is healthy, visible every day rather than at month end.
What gets installed. A dashboard and a daily sheet showing margin per job, cash coming in, your pipeline and your win rate, all on your phone.
What you get. You see problems while you can still act on them, instead of finding out at the end of the month that you made next to nothing.
5. The Exit Blueprint
What it is. A map of where the business is worth more without you, and what a buyer would actually pay for.
What gets installed. A 12 to 24 month path to get there. The four systems above are the blueprint being built, not a plan sitting in a drawer.
What you get. Clarity on what the business could be worth and what has to change, whether you plan to sell, step back, or simply want options.
Implementation in practice: two installs

Catch Up
Catch Up is TBO’s weekly implementation check-in. Each week we report on what has been installed, fix what is stuck and keep the build moving. You see exactly where the work is up to, and anything that needs a decision from you is put in front of you.
There is no homework and no goal-setting exercise. It is a progress report on work we are doing in your business.
“The weekly catch ups have straight up advice no BS.”

How an engagement runs
There are three steps, and no lock-in at any of them.
Step 1: The call
A 20 to 30 minute conversation with David. You tell him where the business is at, how many hours you are doing and what you actually want: off the tools by Christmas, out in five years, or just a business that does not fall over when you take a break. If he cannot help, he says so.
Step 2: The deep dive
David goes into your numbers, your marketing, your operations, how the money moves and where it gets stuck. Within a few days you get the three highest-return moves for your business and exactly what to do about each one. You are welcome to take that and do it yourself. Plenty of owners do.
Step 3: We install it
If you would rather not do it yourself, we come in and build it over 8 to 12 weeks. It is one piece of work with no retainer and no lock-in. When we leave, you should have fewer hours in the week, a business that runs without you, and something a buyer would actually pay for.
05
Is this right for you
It suits owners of established trade and construction businesses who want the work done with them, and who are prepared to change how the business runs, including their own week.
It is not the right fit for:
- owners looking for the cheapest option or a free plan
- owners who want to be taught rather than have it done
- owners who are not prepared to change anything
We cannot want it more than you do.
See how this has worked for other owners on the results page, or read about David’s background.
